IS-6 ... The Russian Löwe?

Hello and welcome to my blog, today we'll be looking at the Russian IS-6 Tier 8 premium. Whilst I haven't got the tank on the main server I did spend some time trying it out on the test server.

Also I was planning/ thinking about doing a post about maps/ tactics and I still intend to but it is taking longer than expected to prepare various photos and information. 

The IS-6 has 100 mm of frontal armor with 150 mm for the turret, whilst this may initially seem thin it should be noted that the front hull is heavily sloped which does go some way to increasing the armor. However, when coming up against the higher tiers you will still find the armor lacking.

The gun is a 122 mm cannon which has a good alpha damage with an average 390. However, the gun is lacking when it comes to penetration and while will be able to take on tier 7's it start to struggle more when it comes up against the higher tier 8's & 9's. Furthermore, the lack of accuracy makes it harder to aim for the weak spots on those tanks thats have got thick frontal armor. 

Credit Income 

The tank does require an initial investment of 11,800 gold so effectively the same as the löwe. Obviously it is a premium and capable of racking up a good amount of kills and damage thus it will make a good income thats can easily rack up hundreds of thousands an hour.

Tactics  

Unfortunately this chapter will be a little shorter than normal as i've not spend nearly as long playing this tank as I have with other:

- I found it to be a close quarter tank due to the lack of accuracy and penetration

- Slope the armor much as the same with most tanks and you will stand a real chance of bouncing shots. 

-  Your turret is also quite strong so it is worth when possible going into a hull down position.

Conclusion 

Whilst it is a very good tank I personally think it is still lacking upon the Löwe and I will not be buying it. On the other hand, it is a very good money maker and if you are not a fan of the löwe and prefer a more up front style of play then you may well enjoy the tank. :)
