GW Panther... Turret Turning God?

Before I start i'm gona try todays post in none italics as people have suggested it maybe easier to read so i'll see how it goes.

I'm gona be looking at the GW Panther today, mainly because its a tank i've been playing quite a lot recently and there seems to be scarcely little information and reviews about it out there in the web.

Obviously one of the main points of note of this tank as i'm sure you guessed is its turret which gives the tank a massive arc of fire. The turret does not have 360 degree rotation but it does mean that unless the enemy is close you rarely have to turn your tank this you don't have to wait for the aiming reticle to come back in from full desperation which can considerable increase your accuracy and combat rate of fire.

The upgraded gun deals 1,250 damage so it is one of the weakest SPG's at this tier compared to its russian counter part which can deal 1,850 on average with both the SU-14 and S-51. It does however, do more damage then the newly introduced french artillery at the equivalent tier.

The GW offers good speed up to 48 kph which allows for rapid deployment and it has a reasonable turn ability which helps to give you a chance at defense against those pesky light tanks attempting to run circles around you.

Credit Making ability

In my opinion on average it does not quite sit up there with the Hummel for its ability to make credits since you can get put in with tier 10's quite regularly and these can be quite hard to do any real damage to thus hindering your income.

As for matchmaking as i said above it does often get put in with the tier 10's which can be quite a tough nut to crack. However, when you get those side shots and penetrations on tier 9's its very enjoyable to see over 1,000 health come off an E-75.

Conclusion

Overall, a very nice tank that is enjoyable to play and effective against the enemy. If you want to use an SPG as a means of making credits then I would advise that you stick with the Hummel, but a very nice tank to lead onto the GW Tiger.
